DeVille's Rising Sun Pharmacy future home in the Foutty Building on Main Street. provided |
(Rising Sun, Ind.) - A new and much needed pharmacy is coming to Rising Sun.
City and Ohio County residents had been without a hometown pharmacy since Beyer’s Pharmacy, the only one in town, shuttered its doors two years ago.
Now, DeVille’s Rising Sun Pharmacy is aiming to open downtown next April.
“We had a number of people from Rising Sun transfer their prescriptions here. They wanted to stay local instead of a chain,” said Camille Boykins, manager at DeVille’s store in Dillsboro and daughter of owner Tom DeVille.
A Rising Sun Regional Foundation grant of up to $50,000 is helping pay for renovations to the pharmacy’s future home in the Foutty Building on Main Street.
“Rising Sun came to us and asked us a little over a year ago to open up there,” Boykins said.
The new pharmacy will include a drive-thru window and be open Saturdays.
