(Harrison, Oh.) - A Harrison church was ransacked Saturday by two burglars who took off with just a few dollars while leaving behind hundreds more in damage and church members with a lot of questions.
Police have arrested and charged Vincent Huddleston, 21, of Cincinnati, and Robert Newhouse, 19, of Harrison, with Breaking and Entering, Safecracking, and Desecration.
Early Saturday morning, the two allegedly broke into St. John the Baptist Catholic Church by shattering a stained glass window.
They then went on a vandalism spree, knocking over altars and candles. They even attempted to pull out the church’s tabernacle from the wall.
The men took a total of $18 from the church’s poor boxes and two bottles of wine before leaving.
Church members discovered the damage as they arrived for Sunday morning mass.
