(Walton, Ky.) - It’s amazing nobody was hurt after a freight train plowed through a semi trailer in Richwood Wednesday afternoon.
Boone County Sheriff’s deputies say the semi was at a stoplight at U.S. 25 and Shoreland Drive about 2:30. The truck’s trailer was straddling the tracks when the Norfolk Southern train came.
The truck, driven by., could not get out of the way and the train shredded through the empty trailer, splitting it in half.
The truck was driven by Eric Gibson, of Detroit, Mich. and is owned by R & E Transportation, of Southfield, Mich.
Police sent traffic to Old Lexington Pike during the cleanup.
