New Hebron Fire Chief Dan Hitzfield Hebron Fire Prevention District

(Hebron, Ky.) - The Hebron Fire Prevention District has its 14^th fire chief in its 74-year existence.

Dan Hitzfield was named the department’s new chief Tuesday after a vote by the district board.

Bill Martin, chief since 2003, has stepped down but will remain active within the department.

Hitzfield was instrumental in having Boone County Fire Training Center built. He is active with the Northern Kentucky Emergency Services School and the regional Officer Development Course. He was most recently in charge of the department’s training, volunteer, scholarship and intern programs, as well as equipment and apparatus.
