Greendale Police have identified the man killed in a crash on U.S. 50 Tuesday evening.
Melvin Stockton, Jr., 52, of Bright, was driving on the highway just west of Oberting Road when his car went off the road and collided with a tree. He died at the scene.
Greendale Police Officer Joseph Vance says drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the deadly crash.
The accident investigation is ongoing.

A black Ford Escort went off the road on U.S. 50 west of Oberting Road and struck a tree at about 7:05.
Greendale Firefighters extracted the driver from the wreckage. That driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Greendale Police are not releasing the victim’s name until extended family is notified.
The crash remains under investigation by Greendale Officer Joseph Vance.
Greendale Police, Fire, and EMS were assisted at the scene by Indiana State Police, University Air Care, and the Dearborn County Coroner’s Office.
