(Milan, Ind.) - A couple sewage and wastewater systems in Ripley County will benefit from $1.2 million in new grants.
The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs announced $13.8 million in Community Focus Fund grants for 26 rural communities around the state.
The Town of Milan will receive $600,000 for stormwater infrastructure.
The Town of Osgood will see a grant for the same amount to be used for sewer infrastructure.
"These grants fund projects which help rural areas of our state build stronger communities," said Lt. Governor Becky Skillman. "Adequate infrastructure and community facilities are essential to a community's economic success."
The grants are funded by the federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, which is administered by the OCRA.
