(Aurora, Ind.) – A man is in jail for stealing then pawning his own brother’s wedding ring.
Jamey Heidorn, of Aurora, is charged with Theft, a Class D felony. He was arrested on a warrant Tuesday, Dec. 28 and remains held at the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center.
According to a court affidavit, Heidorn, 30, stole the $2,200 ring from his brother last September.
The brother gave Heidorn the chance to come clean, but went to police the following month when he had not.
Heidorn traded it for $95 cash at a local pawn shop.
All it took for investigators with the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department to bust Heidorn was look at the information he gave the pawn shop – which included a copy of his driver license - when he traded the ring in.
