(Moores Hill, Ind.) - A Dearborn County family lost most everything they had in a fire just days before Christmas.
Wesley Keith and his infant daughter were sleeping in their trailer at the Spartanvillage Mobile Home Park in Moores Hill this past Sunday when the fire broke out around 3:30 a.m.
The 21-year-old was able to get himself and three-month-old Presley out of the burning home. They were treated for carbon monoxide in their lungs and released from the hospital.
“The fire took everything. Beside some of my niece’s clothes that my wonderful, life-risking brother went back in four times to save,” said Kristina Keith, Wesley’s sister.
Keith and his children – he also has a five-year-old son – are now staying with his father, Scott Keith, who lives in the same mobile home park. They need items including clothes, household goods, baby items, and furniture.
The children’s Christmas gifts were also lost in the blaze.
“He has no clothes or blankets for his daughter, but has none of his own. I am just trying anyway possible to get him some help,” Kristina said.
