Benjamin Senseman was found guilty of second-degree manslaughter and criminal abuse for causing injuries that resulted in Chloe Senseman’s death in July 2009.
Senseman’s wife, Laura, was found not guilty by the same jury.
An autopsy determined the infant died of head trauma and had suffered other injuries, including broken limbs and ribs, in the weeks before her death.
Sensesman told investigators that he had shoved the baby’s head into the corner of a playpen in their Princess Court home the day she died. Laura Senseman was at work that day.
Defense attorneys argued that if Senseman killed his daughter it was only an accident. Senseman’s lawyers also claimed the earlier injuries could have been caused by the couple’s two-year-old son.
Prosecutors are asking the Boone Circuit Court judge to sentence Benjamin Senseman, 32, to the maximum 15 years.
