(Indianapolis, Ind.) - A few state lawmakers are considering introducing bills when lawmakers get to work next month to restrict abortion.

State Senator Greg Walker of Columbus and state Representative Wes Culver of Goshen, both Republicans, have sent a letter to every member of the General Assembly.

Walker said he wants to make the changes to prevent Nebraska abortion doctor LeRoy Carhart from doing business in Indiana.  Walker’s legislation would prevent abortions after the 20th week.

In November, Dr. Carhart announced plans for a clinic in Indianapolis due to new restrictions in Nebraska.

In addition to banning late term abortions, Walker wants to cut funding for Planned Parenthood.

That organization's president, Betty Cockrum, called Walker misguided but said she believes new laws will be passed.
