Ivy Growing: Community College Enrollment Soaring

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Higher education is catching on in southeast Indiana based on the swelling number of people enrolled at Ivy Tech Community College.

Ivy Tech has campuses around the state ranking among publication Community College Week’s fastest growing enrollments of all community colleges in the country.

 

Among schools with enrollment between 2,500 and 4,999 students, Ivy Tech Southeast ranked 20th for the fastest growth from 2009 to 2010. The Southeast campuses are located in Lawrenceburg, Batesville, and Madison.

 

Several other Ivy Tech regions showed in the rankings:

 

Enrollment of 10,000 students or more

• Ivy Tech-Northeast ranked third

• Ivy Tech-Central Indiana ranked 13th

 

Enrollment of 5,000 to 9,999 students

• Ivy Tech-Northwest ranked first

• Ivy Tech-Kokomo ranked fourth

• Ivy Tech-East Central ranked fifth

• Ivy Tech-Southwest ranked 47th

 

Enrollment of 2,500 to 4,999 students

• Ivy Tech-Columbus ranked second

• Ivy Tech-Richmond ranked sixth

 

Statewide, Ivy Tech has more than 200,000 students this year.
