(Grant County, Ky.) – A flood of tourists may be eminent as a full-scale replica of Noah’s Ark is being planned in northern Kentucky.
Governor Steve Beshear will join officials from the Creation Museum in Petersburg during an announcement in Frankfort Wednesday. Plans for the Ark Encounters park to be constructed in Grant County will be unveiled.
With a price tag reported at about $150 million, the 800-acre park will include museums, theaters, and more. It could attract over 1.5 million people each year.
Fun seekers as well as job seekers will be anticipating the park opening. About new 900 jobs are expected to be directly created by the park.
Ark Encounters will be a joint development of museum owner Answers in Genesis and for-profit partner Ark Encounter LLC of Springfield, Mo., according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.
