(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Taking prescription painkillers from elderly residents at a local nursing home will have a Milan woman on home incarceration.

Jody I. Holton was the Assistant Director of Nursing at Woodland Hills Care Center in Lawrenceburg when she came under investigation in 2009 for taking OxyContin and Hydrocodone pills from patients.

Holton, 32, was sentenced in Dearborn Superior Court I on Nov. 22 after pleading to one count of Theft. A charge of Unlawfully Acquiring a Controlled Substance was dismissed in exchange for the plea.

Judge Jonathan Cleary sentenced Holton to spend 180 days on intensive home incarceration and a year on probation. She will also pay hundreds of dollars in fines and fees.

As part of her plea, Holton must testify truthfully in the court proceedings of Gale Willman, a fellow former nurse at Woodland Hills also accused of taking medications.
