(Burlington, Ky.) – A new and massive home development can now go forward in Boone County.

The Boone County Fiscal Court gave unanimous approval to a zone change needed for the 860 unit home development Tuesday the Kentucky Enquirer reports.

Developer Toebben Companies has compiled 334 acres along North Bend Road at Stahl Road in Hebron as the site. It will be mixed use with both single-family and mutli-family housing in addition to some commercial space.

A handful of people from a large crowd in attendance at the fiscal court meeting spoke in opposition, saying the project is too big and needs more space between homes already nearby. They also have worries concerning the burden a slew of new residents would put on local schools.

One neighbor opposed to the project has hired a lawyer who hinted there may be a lawsuit filed against the county regarding the project.
