(Rising Sun, Ind.) - Ohio County residents are welcome to have outdoor fires once again.
Recent rain caused county commissioners to lift the county-wide burn ban Monday.
Ripley and Franklin counties are also without burn bans after cancelling theirs last week.
Dearborn and Switzerland counties are among 15 others in Indiana with bans still in effect.
According to the National Weather Service, southeast Indiana has received about 1.5 inches of rain in the past 14 days and more than two inches in the past month. The area remains about six inches below normal for precipitation this year.
In addition to storms that moved through early Tuesday morning, the weather service expects a 60 to 80 percent chance of more rainfall during Wednesday night and Thanksgiving Day.
